Somehow you have to get tons of sketches and wireframes into something usable.
For me, sketching is simultaneously the most frustrating and most rewarding part of the process. There are some designs that I added to the "round file". It's all apart of the process-for everything that doesn't work, we are closer to something that does!
After sketching, I began putting together wireframes using Balsamiq and UX PIN. This is a low-fidelity wireframe with just place holders for images and filler font instead of paragraphs.
UX Pin was especially helpful! I got the idea for a way for parent's to sign their consent forms on their iPad or iPhone. Which was a huge realization, as we forgot to include consent forms on the website. Learning all phases and parts of the UX process not only helped me make better informed decisions as a designer, but I also have an appreciation for all areas. User research being my favorite.
Finally, I created a high fidelity wireframe to illustrate what a new Gold Center website would look like on various devices. Keeping responsive design in mind, I included iPad and iPhone mockups in addition to the standard desktop and laptop.
